Saturday, on my way home from doing some photographic work, I was listening to Coldplay on the stereo, and I decided to listen to their song Yellow for the first time in a couple of years. I was pleased to find the song still has the beauty, sweep, and emotional punch to move me to tears, even played twice in a row. I don't want that song ever to become ordinary for me. I'm not really religious, but I can't help thinking of Jody and Jenny and, now, Twinkle when I listen to the chorus of that song. Pound for pound, note for note, Yellow remains for me one of the most beautiful and moving songs I've ever heard of. In fact, I'll go so far as to say, on a personal level, nothing comes near it.
