The likelihood that a driver will use his turn signals to indicate a lane change is in inverse proportion to the value of his automobile.

I thought it was proportional to their awareness that they are the only one in the universe.

Yeah, you know, I almost went back and amended it to something like "the likelihood a driver will exercise due consideration for the safety and expediency of his fellow motorists is in inverse proportion to the value of his automobile"... but it's not as visceral or pithy. :)
