Somebody told me once that Chinese immigrants to Toronto have a nickname for the city that translates as "the city in the trees". I have no idea if that's true or not, but it's charming enough, so I'll go with it. This blog will be about things and sights of interest to me in and around the city.
I've also notted those little yellow "support our troops" magnetic stickers appearing on cars here. Nothing like on my trip down to Boston though.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I've seen a few red, white, and blue ribbons on car antennas around here, and things like that. They're usually on assholemobiles (SUVs and pickups)... gasguzzling bohemoths. No wonder these people support the invasion of anyone with a drop of WD40. But yeah, when you're in the States, it can really hit you. I was in Atlanta last year just after the election on business, and I was introduced to a few people in the office. One guy had essentially papered his cube with Bush-Cheney paraphenalia and 'support the troops' stuff. It was a sobering splash in the face that I wasn't in Kansas anymore... so to speak. :)
I see you linked to my blog, thanks! Although I have to admit I'm not a prolific blogger. I seem to manage a post a month.
You were one of the first I read; I left a couple of comments there. :) I've checked back from time to time to see what's next. I guess keeping up with Laura's blog keeps you busy enough, though. :)

Commenting on stuff is easy.
Coming up with a topic is hard.
